For some reason every time I make a .gif, put it at a certian speed, and then save it, the .gif always ends up saving at an extremely slow speed. I don't know what going on. I make sure all the frames are at the same speed, but I still can't seem to find out what's going on.

Example:

When it's still a .mng file

Can someone help me out? D:
12th-Mar-2007 09:19 pm - weird error of sorts
I got an error with PSP7 while making some icons, and I was pretty weirded out by it. Has anyone else ever had this happen (sorry it's large, I didn't want to mess much with psp like that)? And if so any idea what might have caused it? I know PSP7 is extremely buggy by nature, but whatever was wrong with it, it was affecting Photoshop and my FTP program as well. Closing it out and restarting it did seem to solve it, but I'd like to avoid it in the future if possible >>

Does anyone know how to give pictures the "A Scanner Darkly" look? There's a tutorial for Adobe Illustrator but I'm wondering if it can be done on PSP7.
Here's the link to that tutorial for Illustrator users (A SCANNER DARKLY) - someone translate it into PSP7 terms.

This is a re-do of the previous blending tutorial that I did. I'm re-doing it because the images on the first one died--this new one won't have exactly the same wording or use the same images (still using the lovely Ms. Otto though), but the effect is the same as the first tute.

The tutorial! Warning: kinda large images, sorryCollapse )

Have you wondered how people create images that have a transparent background? It's really not that difficult to do. But what makes them 'work' is all about the way you SAVE your image!

Note: While you get a much nicer image with a smoother edge if you save in the .png format, many browsers still don't support the .png transparency -- so I don't really recommend doing it.

We'll be learning two different ways to Save transparent background images -- one using Paint Shop Pro 7 (PSP7), and the other using Animation Shop 3 (AS3).
We'll end up with images that look like this:

sample 1

sample 2

REMEMBER!!! This tutorial doesn't deal with creating the transparent background -- but only with how to SAVE it.

Be sure to check our MEMORIES and TAGS for tutorials that deal with creating transparency...

So let's get started, shall we?

Save that Transparency!!!Collapse )

Try out both methods and see what works the best for you!

Note: Obviously the second method will als works for saving transparency in an animation...

As you can see, saving transparency is much easier than people think! (grin)

Would you like to create an image with rounded corners -- that includes a transparent background? It's really easy to make!

Important Note: This tutorial covers how to to create rounded corners -- but not how to Save an image with a transparent background. To find out how to do the Save, check this tutorial.

We'll end up with something like this:
sample 1

...or this:
sample 2

Let's get started, shall we?

Round 'em Up!Collapse )

By the way, this will work with other Selection types, as well -- such as Circles, Triangles, Stars, etc. Fun, isn't it?

Is there anyway to get an image to look like this on Paint Shop Pro 7?

Default!
I've been using PSP7 for almost a good 2 years and I basically know all buttons and tools, (maybe not everything like on the top task bar with the file and edit and such). And when making such graphics, I usually find tutorials that are based with those with Photoshop semi-translatable, or what I can get through it.

Basically, what I'm wondering if there's some sort of similar tools in PSP7 that could get me to make some sort of graphic like the icon I'm using now? It's called the Polygon Lasso tool, from I hear from Photoshop users and I don't really know if it's possible to do it for PSP7. I know the closet thing similar to this is the selection tool but that's not the kind of look I'm going for and what I want. I tried using the selection option but I wanted a bit of a border, so I tried coloring the edges of the graphic I made this one time and it didn't really look too neat ):

Any help or direction would be appreciated!

Hey Guys,

I'm working on an animated icon right now, and I'm encountering some problems getting it below LJ's file limit. I only have 19 frames, no crazy fades or anything like that, but even when I drop the optimized quality I can't get it below 100kb, let alone the 50kb limit! I am using JASC Animaiton shop, of course. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone could help me out?
I have a photo (behind cut--not big pic though)and I want the "white" part behind tink to be made black.
I have tried several ways, with the paintbrush, with the magic wand and with the selection tool; however I keep doing it "uneven" so it the faded circle around her doesn't look good, it looks all squiggly like. once I change it, I can't seem to get the image edges to "fade" into the black. I dont know if that makes any sense to anyone. LOL if anything could someone please just change the white background in the 4 corners to black?

If anyone could help me out, I'd REALLY appreciate it! :)
Thank you.

6th-Jan-2007 10:29 pm - Userpics too big?
I finally learned to put text on animation, but now lj is saying they're too big even though I saved it at 100x100 (I then saved it as 98x98 just in case, but still no good!)

Any suggestions?

Basically, something has happened with my brushes.
They won't paste onto my image, and I don't know why.
Can anyone help?

Have you ever wondered how people add text, frames or other 'static' elements to their animations? It's actually very simple to do!

First you need an animation to work with, like this one:
add to ani base

And by adding some elements we can easily end up with something like this:
add to ani finished

You'll need to use both Paint Shop Pro 7 (PSP7) and Animation Shop 3 (AS3) for this tutorial.

Ready? Let's go!

Tutorial HereCollapse )

That's all there is to it! Easy, isn't it?

So now you know how all of us have such an easy time lining up our frames/borders and text on animations! (smile)

Remember that you're always welcome to share your results with all of us...

I have a quick question, I checked memories and did not see anything.

I have some pictures that are animated, what I would like to do is put stationary text on them, how do I do this?
2nd-Jan-2007 02:15 am - question about animated backgrounds
Hello, I just downloaded a trial of psp 7 and basically I have no idea what I'm doing. So, I was hoping that someone could explain simply how to put text on something already animated, like a sayclub background? when I tried at Animation Shop I got this with the text jumping around. How do you get the text in the same place on every frame? I just got all this today and am clueless so I hope it's not too complicated :P

Thank you for your help!
